Wyze Cam OG: The Two Fine-Print Problems I Wish I Knew

I bought the “indoor/outdoor” Wyze OG. I missed the fine print.

This is the Wyze OG. Fast indoor cam. I am returning it.

This is the review I filmed on Keli’i Discovers: THIS WYZE Security Camera Is Cheap BUT Has 2 Fatal Flaws!.

Two things I actually said on camera:

1) Person and animal alerts sit behind a subscription. Without it, the camera will not notify on those. Noise notify still works. If you want a cheap baby-cry listener, that’s the plus I filmed. I do not want to pay rent to know a person walked by.

2) The listing reads indoor/outdoor. The outdoor modular is sold separately. I did not see that. I cannot put this on a wall outside. Thats the other reason it’s going back.

It also plugs in with micro-USB. Easy setup: twist mount, QR in the Wyze app, SD slot. Live view is quick. Two-way and the siren work. I am not calling it a bad indoor cam. I am calling it the wrong driveway cam.

If you need something on a rural wall with no outlet, dont gift this. What’s on my house and what I’d buy in 2026 is here: Eufy vs Blink vs Wyze 2026 S340 if you want one outdoor cam, Blink Outdoor 4 3-pack if you’re already in Alexa. The solar ranking is here.

If you want the unit I kept, it’s on my Amazon shop. Prices move. I don’t get paid extra to pick the wrong camera.
