Filmed on my own dime. Best 360 on the market — still probably not the best camera for you unless you want action / unique angles.
Strong post reframe without spinning the body. Vlog lighting beats typical action-cam grain. Does not replace a Pocket 3 for pocket pro looks.
Deal card is camera-only / Standard (B0DZCBYCNY) — not Creator/Get-Set/Starter/Essentials White kits, not GO 3, Pocket 3, Osmo 360, or the official stick. Check the live listing.
The Insta360 X5 is the best 360 camera on the market. It’s probably not the best camera for you. Not sponsored. I spent my own money. Late to the game. Tries to be all-in-one — travel, vlog, action, even tries to be a drone. Unless you’re an action-camera person hoping to do action stuff, get a Canon or a DJI Osmo Pocket 3. Check the live listing.
Insta360 X5 — camera only. I skipped the official stick (cheap Amazon stick instead).

What I actually showed

X5 body. Sunset drive with cool angles from holding a selfie stick — I’m not spinning the cam; I reframed in the Insta360 app. Fasting vlog talking-head lighting. 16×9 action: cutting grass, four-wheelers, lawnmowers, motorcycles — that “video game” look. Walking with my kiddo on a long stick.
Best 360 — but for who?
X5 tries to be the all-in-one: travel, vlog, action, even a drone. By the end you should know if this about-$550 beast (spoken in my video) is worth it or your money goes elsewhere.
I tried it as a drone. Captures everything around you. Never autofocuses. No bokeh. Still makes things look very pretty. Driving into the sunset — cool angles in post. I’m not spinning the camera at all. Hold the stick, open the Insta360 app, pick favorite angles. Shoot 360, export whatever ratio you want — I used 9×6 for social; 16×9 for YouTube.
Vlog and 16×9 action
Vlog lighting looked pretty decent — especially for an action camera. Most action cams would have grain for days, fuzzy edges, you wouldn’t see me clearly. This did a phenomenal job.
16×9: grass cutting, four-wheelers, lawnmowers, motorcycles — that video-game look. Super cool.
I had the X3 and the X4. Good cameras. I never loved the footage. With the X5 I actually feel confident using it as real footage — kids, moments, professional and personal.
Pocket 3 vs X5 / stick
This would not replace the DJI Osmo Pocket 3 — that’s the professional-looking pocket camera that actually pockets. X5 shines as an action camera that gets unique shots and angles. Walking with my kiddo. Selfie stick up to 10 feet for really cool shots.
I’m cheap. I did not get the official Insta360 X5 selfie stick. I bought a cheap one on Amazon.
If you’re an action-camera person hoping to do action stuff, this might be your lane. Otherwise get a Canon. Get a Pocket 3.
Spec strip
Said on camera: best 360 on the market / probably not best for you; not sponsored; own money; late to game; all-in-one travel/vlog/action/drone try; about $550 spoken; no autofocus; no bokeh; pretty capture; post reframe (not spinning); any export ratio (9×6 / 16×9); vlog lighting vs grainy action cams; 16×9 mower/ATV/motorcycle look; X3/X4 owned but never loved footage; X5 confident for real footage; does not replace Pocket 3; stick up to 10 ft; skipped official stick for cheap Amazon stick.
Listing: Spec, not a permanent price — current price moves. About $550 was spoken as the pitch number in my video. Check the live listing.
Pros
Honest “best 360 / maybe not for you” frame
Not sponsored / own money
Strong post reframe without spinning the body
Vlog lighting better than typical action-cam grain
Fun 16×9 action / “video game” look
Finally confident vs X3/X4 footage
Cons
Probably not for non-action buyers
Never autofocuses / no bokeh
Won’t replace a Pocket 3 for pocket pro looks
Official stick skipped (extra buy if you want it)
About $550 spoken — pricey if you only need a pocket cam
Editing 360 in-app is part of the job
Who it’s for / not for
For: action-camera people who want unique 360 angles, long-stick kid/travel shots, and 16×9 “video game” action exports.
Not for: anyone who wants autofocus/bokeh pocket cinema — get a Pocket 3 (or a Canon). Everyday vloggers who hate 360 editing.
vs what I’d buy instead
Pocket cinema sister: DJI Osmo Pocket 3.
Tiny cam sister: Insta360 GO 3.

FAQ
Is the Insta360 X5 the best 360 camera — or just not the camera for you?
Best 360 on the market. Still probably not the camera for you — unless you’re an action-camera person. Otherwise get a Canon or a DJI Osmo Pocket 3.
Who is the X5 actually for?
Action-camera people who want unique 360 angles and long-stick shots. Travel / vlog / action / “tries to be a drone” all-in-one — if that lane is yours. If you want pocket cinema, this isn’t it.
Does it replace the DJI Osmo Pocket 3?
No. Pocket 3 is still the professional-looking pocket camera that fits in your pocket. X5 shines as an action cam, not a Pocket 3 swap.
Autofocus or bokeh?
No. Never autofocuses. No bokeh. Still captures everything around you and can look very pretty — different job.
What did you like?
Post reframe without spinning the body. Vlog lighting better than typical action-cam grain. Fun 16×9 action / “video game” look. Finally confident in the footage vs my X3/X4.
What didn’t you like / skip?
Editing 360 isn’t fun for me. No autofocus / no bokeh. I skipped the official stick — cheap Amazon stick. CTA is camera body only.
What did you pay?
About $550 spoken in my video as the pitch. Check the live listing — prices move. Don’t lock a current dollar from this packet.
Sponsored?
No. Not sponsored. I spent my own money.
