Insta360 X5 Review: Best 360 Camera I Have Used. Probably Not the Camera for You.

The Insta360 X5 is the best 360 camera on the market. It’s probably not the best camera for you.

This is the test I filmed on Keli’i Discovers: Insta360 X5.

The X5 tries to be the all-in-one. Travel. Vlog. Action. It even tries to be a drone. By the end you should know if this beast is worth it, or if your money goes elsewhere.

I tried using it as a drone. It captures everything around you. Never autofocuses. No bokeh. It still makes things look pretty.

Driving into the sunset. Cool angles. I’m not spinning the camera. That’s all post. I held the selfie stick. Then I went into the Insta360 app and picked my favorite angles. You shoot 360 and export whatever ratio you want. I chose 9×6 for social. You can do 16×9 for YouTube.

I also used it as a vlog cam. Lighting looked pretty decent. Especially for an action camera. Most action cameras would have grain for days. Fuzzy edges. You wouldn’t see me clearly. This did a phenomenal job.

16×9 shots: cutting grass, four-wheelers, lawnmowers, motorcycles. That video-game look. Super cool.

I had the X3. I had the X4. Good cameras. I never loved the footage. With the X5 I actually feel confident using it as real footage.

Kids. Moments. Professional and personal. Pretty good camera for that.

This would not replace the DJI Osmo Pocket 3. That’s the pocket camera I would call the professional-looking one you can actually pocket. The X5 shines as an action camera that gets unique shots and angles. Walking with my kiddo. You can get a selfie stick up to 10 feet and get really cool shots.
