Is the Nebula X1S worth it vs the X1 Pro?

Is the Nebula X1S worth it vs the X1 Pro?

Quick take

First thoughts only. I have not run an X1S in the backyard yet. This is from Soundcore’s announce specs and early coverage — not a daylight lux log from me.

Worth a hard look if you want a bright 4K lifestyle projector without rolling the full X1 Pro theater station.

Real win on paper: up to 6,000 ANSI lumens peak (Conference Mode), 4K triple laser, Google TV, lighter plug-in chassis vs the wheeled Pro.

Real limit: that 6,000-lumen peak is a loud mode in brand notes; default/Master mode is rated lower. I cannot grade fan noise or real daylight wash until I film one. Price moves — check the live listing.

What was announced

Soundcore pitched X1S as the brighter lifestyle upgrade over X1: LaserForge 4K triple-laser engine with a fourth laser stack for higher peak brightness. Spec / brand — not a meter I ran.

Brightness: up to 6,000 ANSI lumens in Peak / Conference Mode. Brand/coverage also note a quieter default / Master / Vivid path around 3,000 ANSI — do not treat 6,000 as the everyday film number. Spec, not my room test.

Nebula X1S hero beam — announce frame

Native contrast claim 5,000:1 · dynamic up to 56,000:1. 106% Rec.2020 in vivid mode (brand). Dolby Vision. ISF certification called out. Spec.

Optics: 14-element all-glass lens, 1.67× optical zoom, ~25° micro gimbal. AI Spatial Adaptation / Spatial Recall for one-tap setup. Spec, not my wall scan.

Audio: built-in ~40W Dolby Audio (not the Pro’s 400W wireless 7.1.4 station). Optional wireless satellites exist as separate buys — not wrapped here.

Google TV with official 4K Netflix / Dolby Vision path in brand materials. Plug-in power — no built-in battery.

vs Nebula X1 Pro (sister)

Filmed sister on the site: https://ohanareviewsblog.com/projector-reviews-anker-soundcore-nebula-x1-pro/

X1 Pro = mobile theater station — wheeled chassis, ~3,500 ANSI claim, wireless Atmos 7.1.4 stack, mics, much heavier and higher ticket.

X1S = lifestyle / backyard brightness play — higher peak lumen claim, built-in 40W speakers, no Pro theater cart. Different job. I have not A/B’d them side-by-side.

For: People who want max lumen lifestyle / outdoor dusk-to-dawn pitch without rolling the Pro station. Shoppers comparing X1S vs X1 Pro on brightness vs all-in-one theater.

Not for: Anyone who needs my filmed brightness week. Buyers who want the wheeled Atmos station — read the X1 Pro sister instead.
